Serving in Your Youth: Finding Purpose Through Ministry Early in Life
Listen / watch on
Show Notes
In the very first episode of Praise and Purpose, hosts Eden and Fran sit down with Belle, a fellow member of House of Praise's youth choir, to talk about what it actually means to serve — especially as a young person still figuring out where you fit.
The conversation moves through each of their own winding paths into ministry: reluctance, being gently pushed by family, sitting on the sidelines before finally stepping up, and the slow process of rebuilding a relationship with singing after years away from it. They talk honestly about burnout, the pressure of being watched from the stage, comparing yourself to other people serving alongside you, and the ongoing work of doing something for God rather than for compliments.
It's an unfiltered look at what serving in a church community really looks like day to day — not a polished highlight reel, but the actual, sometimes messy process of showing up, doubting yourself, and choosing to keep going anyway.

- Comparison between fellow team members, and when it helps versus when it hurts
- Burnout from serving, and how to recognize and push through it
- Leading others — the humility and pressure that comes with it
- Modesty, image, and being mindful of how you carry yourself while serving publicly
- Misconceptions about what "worship" actually is
Bible verse
- 1 Corinthians 12 — The conversation echoes this passage's teaching on the body of Christ having many parts, each with a different role, all needed together.
